Lieberman Software and ObserveIT Partner to Monitor and Audit Privileged Access Activity within the Enterprise
Solution Provides Security Oversight for Users on Systems with Access to Sensitive Data
(LOS ANGELES, CA – April 12, 2010) Lieberman Software Corporation and ObserveIT announced that they have partnered to market the companies’ combined solutions for privileged identity management and session screen recording.
“Accounts that hold elevated permissions to access sensitive data need full-time auditing of each access request,” said Jane Grafton, Director of Business Development for Lieberman Software. “These powerful privileged accounts can be used to create new accounts, modify configuration settings, and install programs, so a session recording solution provides a valuable, added layer of security.”
Privileged identities exist on nearly every server and desktop operating system, business application, database, Web service, and network appliance in the enterprise. Because they hold elevated permissions, privileged accounts that are not protected and managed pose a significant security risk. Loss of proprietary data, IT service disruptions, and failure to comply with regulatory audits are potential consequences of unmanaged privileged accounts.
Lieberman Software’s flagship privileged identity management solution, Enterprise Random Password Manager™ (ERPM) continuously locates, strengthens, and grants secure access to privileged account passwords in the multi-platform enterprise. ERPM provides a detailed audit trail of privileged password requests, while ObserveIT Enterprise™ adds session recording and indexing of privileged account usage. The ObserveIT product correlates information for accounts, applications, commands and screens into a searchable database. On-screen activities for Remote Desktop, Citrix, VDI, VMware View or other remote access software are available in DVR-style playback in real-time or as historic recordings.
When the Lieberman Software and ObserveIT products are deployed together they work in concert for auditing and session screen recording of privileged activity. Once access to a privileged account password is requested, ERPM triggers recording by the ObserveIT DVR capability. After the user checks the password back in, the recording session stops.
"There is a tremendous synergy between Lieberman Software and ObserveIT," noted Avi Weiss, COO of ObserveIT. "By combining full session recording with password management, security managers and IT administrators can rest assured that every authorized user is complying with security best practices and corporate policy."
