Lieberman Software Integrates PIM and PUM Solutions to Secure Privileged Access and Users
New Solution Delivers Comprehensive Privileged Password Management Through One Interface
(LOS ANGELES, CA – November 17, 2010) Lieberman Software Corporation, the Pioneers of Privileged Identity ManagementSM, announced the release of an open interface for its flagship Enterprise Random Password Manager™ (ERPM) privileged identity management (PIM) solution that allows end users to integrate with leading third-party privileged user management (PUM) solutions in minutes.
Managing insider threats requires that each organization understand its vulnerabilities and use the right tools to address each type of threat. To manage the risks associated with privileged credentials – that is, to discover the “super user” credentials used by IT staff, computer services and applications; change privileged passwords regularly; release them appropriately; and audit their use to promote continuous compliance with regulatory standards – a PIM system like ERPM is ideal.
If the requirement is to occasionally give users limited, elevated access to perform specific tasks then a PUM solution is needed. Both PIM and PUM are part of a security framework that helps grant the least privileges required for each particular task. Both solutions are necessary, but each addresses different security areas: elevated users or true administrator access.
Partner or Develop
Lieberman Software chose to partner with PUM vendors rather than to develop its own solution when it determined that the marketplace already has several stable, feature-rich PUM products available. The company decided to continue expanding its leadership in privileged identity management by retaining its focus on this market. As a result, Lieberman Software can assure its customers that they will continue to receive the industry’s most stable, feature-rich PIM solutions while providing deep, time-saving interoperability with established PUM products.
Effective immediately ERPM works in concert with leading PUM solutions to eliminate a wide range of security threats related to unmanaged privileged passwords. This technical integration helps multi-platform enterprises better address IT audit findings, achieve continuous compliance and reduce the risks of network attackers and insider threats.
“At Lieberman Software we take pride in partnering with the industry’s top innovators,” said Philip Lieberman, president and CEO of Lieberman Software. “By integrating PIM and PUM solutions in a single user interface, we provide our customers with total privileged password security.”
ERPM’s new PUM integration is available immediately at no cost to supported Lieberman Software customers.
