Lieberman Software CEO Philip Lieberman a Featured Presenter at The Microsoft Management Summit
Security Industry Veteran to Offer Insights on Achieving Compliance through Critical Privileged Account Management and Security Best Practices in MS System Center Environments
(LOS ANGELES, CA – April 23, 2009) Lieberman Software today announced that President and CEO Philip Lieberman will be a speaker at The Microsoft Management Summit (MMS). Held at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, April 27 through May 1, MMS is the premier event of the year for IT professionals seeking deep technical information and training on the latest IT management solutions from Microsoft, partners, and industry experts.
Lieberman will speak at 8:30 am, Thursday, April 30 as part of the Partner Technical Showcase, on "Securely Managing Local Administrator and Cross-Platform Root Accounts in Microsoft System Center for GRC Compliance."
"The reality and the root of this problem is that most organizations have no real control over sensitive privileged accounts,” Lieberman said. “This is a major issue when you consider that privileged user accounts are found in virtually every application, database and infrastructure device throughout the enterprise and are the most powerful accounts within an IT enterprise, posing the greatest security and regulatory compliance risks.”
Many organizations set their systems’ local privileged accounts to the same name and password, or never change these critical accounts. In an environment of internal and external threats, this decision can lead to the total compromise of security if even one privileged password is decrypted.
"Even experienced IT professionals may be surprised to learn how hackers crack the local administrator account and gain peer-level access to every system. I'll be showing this and will provide strategies and tactics on how to stop this problem and securely manage these critical accounts from within the Microsoft System Center environment," Lieberman added.
At MMS, Lieberman Software will also announce new Microsoft System Center integration capabilities in its Enterprise Random Password Manager and Random Password Manager solutions. Lieberman Software will be exhibiting in booth 222.
