Intensive Care Utilities

Intensive Care Utilities protects domains and servers by automatically capturing all security information (SAM) into human readable text files. Network administrators can quickly diagnose the health of their environment and make necessary changes, including a complete rebuild of all users, groups, passwords, shares, home directories and ACLs. These captures can also be used to migrate to upgraded domains/servers.

Intensive Care Utilities consists of two parts: the Capture Generator and the System Builder. The Capture Generator is a service that takes periodic snapshots of domain controllers and servers, and stores the data in a human readable ASCII text file.

The System Builder can quickly recreate deleted users, restore damaged ACLs and rebuild complete domains from scratch. The System Builder has extensive editing and remapping capabilities, enabling fast, large-scale configuration changes and complex migrations.
Quickly rebuild servers and domains that have been destroyed by:
Internal corruption within the SAM of an NT system or Windows 2000/Server 2003 Active Directory Credentials Store (Kerberos)
Administrative error
Malicious destruction of a server or domain configuration
Simplified migration between Windows NT, Windows 2000, Server 2003 and Network Attached Storage (NAS)
Increased security through recovery and fast rebuilding of security settings
Global view of environment via reporting capabilities
Document, repair, redesign, and migrate any part of a domain and/or server
Restore users, groups, and shares that may have been damaged/deleted by mistake
Reconfigure/rebuild domains that have become corrupted or need to be regenerated according to standards
Extensive remapping of accounts for the movement of shares to different domains
Migration to NAS such as Network Appliance and Interwoven
Consolidate multiple domains (merge servers and account databases)
Analyze the consistency of accounts and force all accounts to use the same policies with regard to home directories, scripts, profiles, and passwords
Transport ACLs from one server to another; even between different domains
Data is captured in plain text files that are human readable and fully editable using any text editor
Rebuild permissions on shares even if users and groups have been deleted and regenerated with different account SIDs
