User Self-Service Password Reset
Account Reset Console allows your users to reset their own passwords should they forget them, or if they become locked out. Password reset can be accomplished via their own logon screen via a "Forgot Password" link, or any web browser in the enterprise. Users can be automatically reminded (via periodic emails) prior to password expiration to reset their passwords using Account Reset Console's scheduled reporting and reminder capability.
Help Desk Delegated Password Reset
Account Reset Console can be used in web access mode to provide an easy way for your Help Desk staff to provide password resets for your users.
Floor Manager Password Reset
Account Reset Console allows you to set up any group of systems that can be managed by managers (non-IT) to reset passwords for their staff without having to call the IT department.
Change Auditing
Account Reset Console audits all successful and failed logon and change requests to a central file. Information includes the machine name attempting to perform the operation, logon identity, target account for reset, as well as time and date stamps. All transmissions can be encrypted using SSL (encryption certificate provided by your organization) to protect from interception.
Stale and Obsolete User Accounts
Account Reset Console also provides the built-in option of scanning all accounts for usage. If an account has not been used for a period of time selected by you, a warning email is sent to the user to logon. If the account is not used after the warning, Account Reset Console can automatically disable the dormant account. If the user contacts the Help Desk to reactivate an account, it can be turned back on without the loss of data or security settings.

Password resets can be done from any machine with a web browser, so there are no client requirements. Microsoft Windows, Apple Mac, Linux, and UNIX all work via the web interface of Account Reset Console to reset passwords on your Microsoft domains.
The integrated password reset for the logon screen of Windows is provided by a free add-on. We have integrated password add-ons for the password reset logon screen for Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Vista and Windows 2008.
Platform Requirements for User Password Reset
Account Reset Console requires very little in the way of resources to setup and use. It can be hosted on a Windows XP or Server 2003 system. It uses Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005 as its back-end database, or it can use the free versions of this database known as MSDE or SQL Server 2005 Express. It is easiest to set up in a domain environment with multiple domain support provided. Standalone password management for a single workstation is also provided. Set-up time typically takes less than half an hour.
Account Reset Console can support 10 to 100,000 user accounts (a minimum purchase of a 100 user license is required).
