Software President and CEO to Present at the Military
Cyber Security Conference
Philip Lieberman to Provide
Insight on How to Secure Privileged Access to an Organization’s Most Sensitive
Data
(LOS
ANGELES, CA – September 6, 2011) Lieberman Software
Corporation
today announced that President and CEO Philip Lieberman will be a speaker at the
Military Cyber
Security Conference
taking place September 7-9 in Arlington, VA.
Lieberman
is a recognized IT security expert with more than 30 years of experience. On Thursday, Sept. 8 at 10:15AM ET he
will present "The Common
Credentials Dilemma," examining how privileged identities impact the security
of highly sensitive military and federal government data through their
control of access to systems and applications.
The Military Cyber Security Conference brings together the senior level military,
government and industry experts who are defining the requirements and shaping
the solutions in cyber security and computer network defense.
"The
flaw with most organizations’ password security is that a single, compromised
privileged account password could give an unauthorized individual or malicious
program anonymous access to systems and applications almost anywhere on the
network," Lieberman said.
"This
presentation will describe how the practice of deploying shared account
passwords has inadvertently created a security hole that can easily be
exploited by both malicious insiders and programs. I will detail where these
privileged identities exist in the enterprise, how access to them spreads over
time and, most importantly, the steps that an organization can take to regain
control. For instance, every privileged account password in the enterprise must
be automatically and frequently updated with unique credentials, and use of
these passwords must be restricted to delegated and audited users,"
Lieberman said.
Lieberman Software
provides the industry’s most comprehensive line of privileged identity
management products and has long helped secure some of the nation’s largest
government and military organizations, including the U.S. Army and other
branches of the U.S. Department of Defense. The company also holds a U.S. Army Certificate
of Networthiness (CoN), a requirement for
enterprise software products that operate in the Army Enterprise Infrastructure
network.
