Windows Services can be configured to be part of a Cluster Services definition in order to provide failover protection.
Changing the credentials or restarting a Service that is part of a clustered service can have unintended consequences, such as data corruption of failover actions.
Service Account Manager integrates with the Clustered Services management layer to properly handle modifications and updates to services defined as part of a cluster. It can recognize and properly manage services in cluster resources, including user-defined resources.
Service Account Manager also can recognize custom-defined resource types to properly handle Clustered Services that may be internally developed or from third-party vendors.
